1. How can AltaFuga improve your test-taking skills and academic performance?

AltaFuga tutors are teachers with experience in both high school and university instruction. Therefore, they know what it takes to move from one level to the next. By closely following the academic curricula of US schools, our tutoring methods place the student at the center of the learning process. AltaFuga currently offers private and small group course tutoring services for the SAT, ACT, math, chemistry, biology, and Spanish.

2. What DOESN’T AltaFuga do?

AltaFuga tutors are professional educators with high teaching standards. However, we are not committed to doing students’ work but to guiding, supporting, and providing resources for them to complete their homework.

3. How to book a private section?

The first step is to contact us to answer your questions in a personalized manner. An academic advisor or professional tutor will be the person you talk to. There are no sales reps in between. Once you have spoken to us and decided to purchase hours, book a session by clicking «BOOK YOUR LESSONS» in the main menu or the academic or test prep program you want. Naturally, the more hours you purchase, the greater the discount. You can then choose a start date and time of your first tutoring session and press «Book Now.» Go to «View Cart,» «Continue to Checkout,» and «Place Order» after completing the required information.

4. How to book a spot in a small group class?

5. Does AltaFuga offer a monthly subscription?

Not at the moment.

6. What is the duration of each session?

1h, 1.5h or 2h. For shorter or longer sessions, please get in touch with us.

7. How many sessions are recommended per week?

This depends on the needs, academic schedule, and extra-curricular activities of the student.

8. How to make payments?

We accept payments via Paypal and credit cards through the website, once your registration and first scheduled session is confirmed.

9. When is a tutor assigned?

A tutor is assigned after a conversation with an academic advisor or a tutor, and the needs and general schedule of the student are understood.

10. Does AltaFuga provide a diagnostic test?

Yes, if the student does not provide the results of a last practice or official exam.

11. What curriculum does AltaFuga use?

AltaFuga develops its curricula based on published books.

12. Is tutoring available for college and university students?

Depends on the needs of the student and the availability of a tutor with the appropriate qualifications.

13. Is tutoring available for homeschooled students?

14. Does AltaFuga work with students with learning differences and special needs?

At the moment, we do not have tutors specializing in learning differences or special needs students.

15. What expectations should a student have upon working with AltaFuga?

A student who can enthusiastically attend the sessions as planned, work on the assigned homework, and take practice exams should expect to increase his or her scores in the standardized tests and/or academic performance.

16. How to monitor progress?

In the case of an academic program, through grades; in the case of standardized tests, through performance in practice and official exams.

17. Can a tutor at AltaFuga contact a student school teacher directly?

Only if authorized by the family.

18. What if AltaFuga is not a good fit?

The student can cancel the program and/or request a tutor’s change if not satisfied after up to 4 sessions.

19. Are the sessions online or in person?

100% online; the student and the tutor will access the scheduled session through the website.

20. Does the student have the same tutor throughout the program?

Yes, unless the needs of the student change.

21. What can an AltaFuga tutor teach?

For the moment, AltaFuga is offering SAT and ACT preparation programs, private and in small-group course modalities, as well as academic programs in chemistry, biology, math, and Spanish.
